Course Description:
This course provides an in-depth study of the principles and practices of animal production, focusing on the management, breeding, nutrition, and health of domesticated farm animals. Students will explore the biological, technological, and economic aspects of raising livestock such as cattle, sheep, goats, poultry, pigs, and other farm animals for meat, milk, eggs, fiber, and other products. Emphasis is placed on sustainable and ethical practices, animal welfare, and the role of animal agriculture in food security and rural development.
Through a combination of lectures, laboratory work, and field visits, students will gain practical knowledge and skills in animal husbandry, housing systems, feeding strategies, reproduction techniques, and disease control.
